Safely administering pain relief to your little one

When your child is feeling unwell or in pain, it’s important to choose safe and appropriate pain relief methods. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your pediatrician or on the medicine label, based on your child’s age and weight. Common medications like paracetamol or ibuprofen can help reduce fever and discomfort, but they should never be given more frequently than recommended. Avoid giving adult medicines to children, and always use the measuring device that comes with the medication for accurate dosing.

Along with medication, gentle care can also help your child feel better. Encourage plenty of fluids, proper rest, and comforting activities such as reading or cuddling. If your child’s pain persists, symptoms worsen, or they develop unusual reactions such as rashes, breathing difficulties, or extreme sleepiness, seek medical attention immediately. Safe pain management combines the right medicine, the correct dose, and close attention to your child’s overall well-being.
